Mishella Perez is a dedicated Clinical Ultrasound Educator at Scripps Clinic Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) in San Diego, specializing in high-risk obstetrics and fetal echocardiography. With two decades of experience, she has played pivotal roles as a clinical educator across the Departments of Radiology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Mishella has been key in educating and mentoring ultrasound students, sonographers, residents, fellows, and faculty. Her commitment to advancing the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Sonography profession is evident through her active involvement in the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM), where she serves on the MFM Sonographer Certification Task Force, and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), where she sits on the Executive Committee and currently chairs the Obstetrics Community of Practice. Mishella also contributes to the Conference and Sonographer Subcommittee for the Fetal Heart Society and is a member of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG)and the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS). Her innovative approach continues to push the boundaries of ultrasound imaging, making a meaningful impact on the field.
Originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, He is a foreign medical doctor. He specialized in obstetrics and gynecology, with eight years of experience in the management of high-risk pregnancies. He is also a registered diagnostic medical sonographer specialized in Ob-Gyn ultrasound and fetal echocardiography. His fields of interest are: fetal growth restriction, congenital heart diseases, and 3D ultrasound in prenatal diagnosis. He have translated guidelines into French for the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and also published or contributed to 25 articles, case challenges, and reports relating to Ob-Gyn ultrasound. He is an item writer and reviewer for Inteleos and an AIUM fellow.
