Passing this certification demonstrates a professional’s proficiency in maternal and women’s imaging, confirming their ability to perform, interpret, and manage sonographic procedures related to pregnancy, fetal health, and female reproductive systems.

Prerequisites for the OB/GYN Examination

To be eligible for the OB/GYN examination, candidates must meet the ARDMS prerequisites, which include:

  • 1. Completion of the SPI Examination: Candidates must pass the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) examination.
  • 2. Meeting one of the ARDMS eligibility pathways: Candidates must fulfill education and clinical experience requirements under an approved ARDMS pathway.
