Across Nigeria, maternal mortality rates have skyrocketed in recent times. This is compounded by a severe shortage of skilled medical professionals with expertise in ultrasound, noticeable rise in quackery in ultrasound services, high rates of wrong diagnosis, and thousands of communities with limited access to proper ultrasound services. Without access to proper ultrasound services, preventable conditions are often misdiagnosed or missed entirely, costing countless lives each year. Yet, through collective efforts, we are changing this reality.
